Sell bundles on POS

This article defines the required configuration steps, operational logic, and strict constraints for selling both Mix and Match and Pre-curated bundles created via the Easy Bundle Builder app through the Shopify Point of Sale (POS) interface.

Phase 1: Enabling the Easy Bundles Tile in Shopify POS

To display bundles in the physical retail environment, the app must be embedded into the POS interface.

1. Open the Shopify POS interface and click Point of sale.
2. Enter the screen to customize the in-store experience.
3. Click to add a tile on your page.
4. Navigate to the Embedded apps section and select Easy Bundles.
5. Reorder the resulting block as desired and click Save.

Phase 2: Enabling Bundles in the App Backend

Each bundle must be explicitly enabled for POS within the Easy Bundle Builder app settings.
For Mix and Match Bundles:

1. Navigate to the Easy Bundle Builder app and locate the Mix and Match bundle.
2. Click Edit.
3. Go into Settings and click on Bundle products.
4. Toggle the Sell on POS setting to the ON position.

For Pre-curated Bundles:

1. Navigate to the app and locate the Pre-curated bundle.
2. Go into Settings.
3. Toggle the Sell on POS setting to the ON position.

Phase 3: Processing a Bundle Sale on POS

When a staff member interacts with the Easy bundle tile in the POS app, the system loads all bundles with the "Sell on POS" toggle enabled.

1. Selection: The staff member taps either a Mix and Match or Pre-curated bundle.

3. • Mix and Match: Staff select the required individual products across defined steps to fulfill category-level rules.
   • Pre-curated: Staff select specific variant options for the pre-defined items in the bundle.
3. Review: Staff click to review the bundle. The POS app calculates and displays the finalized discounted price alongside all selected products.
4. Checkout: Staff click Add Bundle. The bundle, its components, and the final discounted price are pushed to the POS cart for payment processing.

4. Constraints & Edge Cases

• Supported Discounts Constraint: IF the bundle is processed on POS, THEN the system only supports Amount, Percentage, or Fixed price discounts.
• Unsupported Discounts Constraint: IF a merchant applies Buy X Get Y discounts, Tiered Price per item discounts, or Collection-based discounts to a bundle, THEN the discount will fail and will not work on POS.
• Add-on Functionality Constraint: IF the Add-on functionality is configured within the bundle builder, THEN it will be ignored on POS, as it is currently unsupported in the physical retail environment.
