How to Add a Bundle to a Shopify Collection

Adding a bundle to a Shopify collection allows you to showcase bundled items alongside regular products within specific catalog categories on your store.

Overview

In this system, a bundle is represented and managed by its designated parent product. Adding a bundle to a Shopify collection is executed by assigning its parent product to the desired collection, which automatically exposes the bundle within that collection on the storefront.

Core Logic & Functionality

Step 1: Locate the Bundle Parent Product

  1. Navigate to the Shopify Products section in your Shopify admin panel.
  2. Locate and select the parent product that corresponds to the bundle you wish to add.

Step 2: Assign the Parent Product to a Collection

  1. On the parent product details page, locate the collection settings and click Add collections.
  2. Select the specific collection where you want the bundle to appear (for example, the Hydrogen collection).
  3. Save your changes to confirm the assignment.

Step 3: Verify Collection Assignment

  1. Navigate to Collections in your Shopify admin panel.
  2. Open the collection you selected in Step 2.
  3. Confirm that the bundle's parent product is listed inside the collection.

Constraints & Edge Cases

  • Parent Product Dependency: Bundles cannot be added to a collection directly as isolated components; the collection assignment must always be applied to the parent product.
  • Visibility: If the parent product is unpublished or hidden from a sales channel, the bundle will not render on the storefront collection page, even if the collection assignment is active.
