# Easy Bundle Builder: Setting Up Add-ons and Free Gifts in Mix & Match Bundles

## 1. Overview
The **Add-ons and Gift Message** feature in Easy Bundle Builder allows merchants to offer complementary add-on products or free gifts on a dedicated step within a Mix & Match bundle. Tiered discounts (such as percentage-off or 100% free items) are dynamically calculated based on the total quantity or value of products added from preceding non-add-on steps in the bundle.

## 2. Core Logic & Mechanics

### Bundle Step & Condition Evaluation
* **Condition Origin:** The system counts the cumulative quantity or value of items selected from the **non-add-on bundle steps** (e.g., Step 1, Step 2).
* **Add-on Trigger:** When the customer reaches the **Add-on step** (e.g., Step 3), the app evaluates the items in the cart against the active discount tiers.
* **Storefront UI Behavior:**
  * **IF** the customer has **not met** the minimum condition threshold (e.g., added 0 or 1 item from previous steps):
    * **THEN** the Add-on tab remains visible, but all add-on products appear **greyed out** and **cannot be added** to the cart.
  * **IF** the customer **meets or exceeds** a tier threshold (e.g., added 2 items):
    * **THEN** the add-on products become selectable, and the corresponding discount is automatically applied.

### Discount Application Rules
* **Tier 1 Example:** IF **2 products** are added from earlier bundle steps, THEN the customer receives **50% OFF** the add-on product.
* **Tier 2 Example:** IF **3 products** are added from earlier bundle steps, THEN the customer receives **100% OFF** (Free Gift) on the add-on product.


## 3. Step-by-Step Configuration

**1.Navigate to App Configuration:**
1. Log in to the **Easy Bundle Builder** application home page.
2. Locate your target Mix & Match bundle and click **Edit**.
3. Click on the **Config** tab in the top menu bar.
4. Select **Add-ons and Gift Message** from the options list.

**2.Enable the Add-on Tab:**
1. Switch the toggle for **Enable Add-on** to **ON**.
2. Enter a custom name in the **Tab Name** field.



   > **Note:** Enabling add-on automatically creates a dedicated bundle tab/step where the add-on/free-gift products will be displayed.

**3.Activate Products & Set Discount Tiers:**
1. Scroll down to the **Add-on** section and click **Activate**.
2. Select the specific Shopify products you want to display as add-ons or free gifts.
3. Select your preferred **Tier Condition Type**:
   * **Quantity** (Total quantity of non-add-on bundle items)
   * **Bundle Product Quantity**
   * **Bundle Value** (Total monetary amount from earlier steps)
4. Configure your tier levels:
   * Set **Tier 1** (e.g., Condition: `2` products $\rightarrow$ Discount: `50%`).
   * Set **Tier 2** (e.g., Condition: `3` products $\rightarrow$ Discount: `100%`).

**4.Configure Messaging and Gift Messages:**
1. Scroll below the tier setup to configure custom customer-facing messaging options for tiers.
2. Customize the **Gift Message** text fields directly below the tier configurations to allow customers to include personal notes with their gift/bundle.
3. Click **Save**.


## 4. Constraints & Prerequisites
* **Prerequisite:** A Mix & Match bundle with at least one preceding step must be created before setting up an add-on step.
* **Item Eligibility:** Products in the Add-on tab strictly evaluate items added in **non-add-on steps**. Quantity or value from the add-on items themselves does **not** count toward unlocking discount tiers.
* **Condition Types:** Discount tiers evaluate based on a single selected condition type per tier rule (**Quantity**, **Bundle Product Quantity**, or **Bundle Value**).
* **Selection Restrictions:** Add-on items cannot be selected by the user until the minimum requirement for Tier 1 is satisfied in prior bundle steps.
