# [New] Setting up "Auto-Add" and "Choose" Options for Tiered Free Gifts on mix and match bundle builder

The Free Gift feature in the Easy Bundles app allows merchants to offer complimentary products to customers when they reach specific bundle size thresholds. These free gifts operate independently from standard tiered percentage bundle discounts. The system supports multiple threshold tiers and allows the merchant to configure whether the free gifts are automatically added to the cart or manually chosen by the customer from a predefined list.

### Enabling and Accessing the Feature
To configure free gifts, the system requires the following steps:
1. Navigate to the **Easy Bundles app**.
2. Click **Edit** on the specific bundle where the free gift logic will be applied.
3. Navigate to the **Offer section**.
4. Locate the **Free gift section** and enable the free gift option.

### Delivery Methods
The system provides two distinct delivery methods for how the customer receives the gift:
* **Auto-add:** IF the customer meets the tier threshold, THEN the system automatically adds the specific free gift(s) to the bundle.
* **Choose:** IF the customer meets the tier threshold, THEN the system presents a list of eligible products and prompts the customer to manually select their gift(s).

### Tier Configuration & Accumulation Logic
Merchants can create multiple tiers by clicking **add tier**. Each tier is triggered by a minimum product quantity threshold (e.g., IF the bundle contains at least two products, THEN unlock Tier 1).
When multiple tiers are configured, the system requires an accumulation rule to determine how gifts stack:
* **IF** the merchant selects **"replace with new tier"**, **THEN** the system only applies the free gift(s) associated with the highest qualifying tier. Lower-tier gifts are removed or ignored.
* **IF** the merchant selects **"keep earlier gifts"**, **THEN** the accumulation is cumulative. The customer will receive all free gifts from every tier threshold they have successfully crossed.

### "Choose" Method Configuration Variables
When the "Choose" delivery method is active, the system enforces the following configurable constraints per tier:
* **Product List:** The merchant must define the specific list of products available for selection.
* **Total Selection Limit:** The system enforces a maximum number of free gifts the customer can choose from the tier (e.g., the customer can choose exactly two items).
* **Per-Product Limit:** The system enforces a limit on how many of the *same* product can be selected. IF the limit is set to one, THEN the customer cannot select duplicates of the same free gift.

### Customer Frontend Experience
* **Notification:** IF a customer meets a free gift condition while building a bundle, THEN a toast message pops up to notify them.
* **Claiming (Choose Method):** IF the "Choose" method is active, THEN a **claim** button appears. Once clicked, the selection menu opens.
* **Auto-close:** IF the customer selects the maximum allowed number of free gifts, THEN the selection window automatically closes, and the free gifts are visually added to the bundle builder.
* **Cart Application:** When the bundle is added to the cart, the system displays the bundle at its discounted price alongside the free items. The discounts are applied via the discount function created by Easy Bundles.

### UI Customization
The system allows merchants to modify the frontend text for the following elements:
* Unlock message
* Success message
* Title text (e.g., renaming "free gift" to another phrase)

## 4. Constraints & Edge Cases
* **Discount Separation:** The discount applied to make the gift "free" is processed via the Easy Bundles discount function, which operates concurrently with, but separate from, the bundle's tiered percentage discounts.
* **Cart Deletion Protocol:** IF the user deletes the bundle grouping directly from their cart, THEN the discount function is severed. Consequently, the individual products (including the previously "free" gifts) will remain in the cart, but they will revert to their full, undiscounted price.
