# Integrating Subscriptions in Mix and Match Bundles

## Overview

This document details the configuration process, system logic, and constraints for integrating third-party subscription plans (e.g., Shopify Subscriptions, Recharge) into mix and match bundles.

## Core Logic / Functionality

1. **Prerequisite Plan Configuration**
* A third-party subscription app should be installed
* A subscription plan must first be created within that subscription app.
* All individual products intended for the bundle must be explicitly added to this subscription plan.
* The subscription frequency must be defined in the app.

2. **Enabling the Bundle Subscription**
* Navigate to the target bundle and access the **Config** section, then select **Subscriptions**.
* The system presents three specific configuration options: **No Subscription**, **Bundle subscription**, and **Pre-order subscription**.
* Select **Bundle subscription** to enable integration.

3. **Plan Synchronization and Selection**
* Click the **Get subscription plan** button.
* IF the prerequisite configuration is met, THEN the system fetches and displays available subscription plans containing the bundled products.
* Select the target subscription plan from this list.

4. **Frontend UI Customization**
* Administrators can customize the frontend display by editing the **tier name**, modifying the text for the **Discount Pill**, and adding a description for the subscription plan.

5. **Purchase Options and Default Behavior**
* The bundle can be restricted to subscription-only, or configured to allow both subscription and one-time purchases.
* IF both purchase types are enabled, an administrator can use the **Default to one-time** toggle to control the pre-selected state on the storefront.

6. **Discount Application Logic**
* The system uses the **Discount applies on** setting to determine how bundle discounts interact with purchase types.
* Administrators must choose between three options: **Subscription**, **One-time**, or **Both**.
* IF **Both** is selected, THEN the defined bundle discount will trigger regardless of whether the customer selects a one-time purchase or a subscription.

7. **Recharge App Integration**
* IF the store utilizes the Recharge subscription app, the administrator must check the **integrate with Recharge app** box to establish the connection.

## Constraints & Edge Cases

* **Subscription Plan Synchronization Failure:** IF any single product included in the mix and match bundle is missing from the designated subscription plan within the third-party app, THEN the subscription plan will fail to sync and will not appear in the bundle's selection list.
